JD Vance does not disappoint. No hearts and minds were won or lost except for maybe the disappearing GOP supporters. MAGA is not the GOP. The GOP does not exist.
CBS moderated debate - Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan.
The Israel question was first.
Take note when you read the reports and view 'strike' maps on social media concerning targets within Israel. These are 'target' maps in many cases and mainly unsuccessful 'strikes' because the Iron Dome is intercepting many if not all of these attacks before they ever hit the ground in Israel. So when Israel talks about preemptive strikes against other targets in the region, it should be considered how these offensive/counter offensives should be characterized.
Hurricane Helene and the dockworker strikes are immediate concerns for the U.S. economy and concerns for small business owners as well as election related logistics when it comes to paper ballots, voting machines and how quickly ballot can be (re)printed or resent and whether or not postal facilities will be able to handle the distribution and collection leading up to and on voting day this November.
JD Vance mentioned the CBP One app and the moderator reminded everyone that we have a legal process for illegal immigration. 4 years ago it was crime that had been officially normalized and now it is illegal immigration that is legal - or a legal process for illegal immigration that has been normalized. We are never going back and there is nothing Trump can do about it.
It would be surprising if the border can even be closed under Trump let alone deportations. It is not going to stop.
Walz does not want to be Kamala's VP because he would get blamed for everything while she takes all of the credit and after tonight's debate it is obvious that Walz is much better in the art of debate than Kamala. Simply put, there is nothing that can be done at this point to make Kamala Harris look good. That is nobody's fault but hers.
