We need to talk about “Terms of Service” - Did you agree to anything and everything that is happening now?

You signed up for a ‘free’ e-mail service 20 years ago and checked the box indicating that you agree to the terms of service which are subject to change at any time without notice.

This was before ‘the cloud’ replaced your local hard drive operating system software. The good common sense you were raised with told you that it cannot be possible that ’the cloud’ is a good idea. It cannot be safer, or faster and seemingly has no benefits to the end user whatsoever. Then all of the sudden your phone number was required to ‘verify’ all of your accounts. Again, good common sense told you that giving any of these companies more of your personal information cannot possibly keep you safer than not sharing it since the phone number is precisely the thing they use to compromise your accounts. You cannot ‘agree’ to be perpetually unaware of what is going on or what is planned next only to be met with responses about automatic mandatory opt-in layer protocol, for example.

It has been very difficult for many to find what they are looking for on Google lately. That may be because Google is busy with AI search. After you spent decades creating content to please the Google search engine, they are now becoming a content creator of sorts by using AI to generate top level search results based on the content indexed by its search engine. The content you created.

Google AI search replicates your original content and uses it to steer traffic to google sponsored ads.

Did you agree to this when you agreed to the terms of service?
